Privacy Policy

Sale Coffee Tools — Effective date: 7 September 2026

Sale Coffee Tools is a marketplace where people list their own coffee equipment for sale and reach each other directly. This policy explains what we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your email address, and your name only the first time you sign in. Should you choose Apple's Hide My Email, we never see your real address: we receive a relay address that forwards to you, and that is the only one we store.
• Seller details (only if you choose to publish a listing): your phone number, your country, and your city. We deliberately do not collect a street address: it would be typed by hand and unverified, so it could not identify anyone, while publishing it would expose sellers' homes.
• Listings you publish: title, product type, brand, model, quantity, description, price, condition, photos, and the country and city the item is in.
• Messages: the chat messages you send to other users through the app.
• Your private lists: the listings you save as favourites and the users you block.
• Reports: if you report a listing or a user, we keep the report and its reason so we can review it.
• Terms acceptance: the version of the Terms you accepted and the date you accepted it.
• Limited technical data: a notification token for your device, and a view counter on each listing.

2. What Is Public and What Is Private

This distinction matters more than anything else in this policy:

• Public — anyone browsing the app can see your listings, your display name and profile picture, and the country and city of the item.
• Private — your email address, your favourites, and your blocked list are never shown to other users. Database rules restrict them to you and to the moderator.
• Your phone number is private by default. It is attached to your listings so buyers can reach you on WhatsApp only if you switch that on yourself. If you leave it off, no buyer ever sees it.
• Messages are visible only to the two people in the conversation.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To run the marketplace: publish your listings and show them to buyers in the countries you sell to.
• To let buyers and sellers reach each other by in-app chat, or on WhatsApp if the seller chose to show their number.
• To send essential emails: email verification, password reset, and account deletion confirmation.
• To send you a notification when someone messages you.
• To review reports and remove listings or accounts that break the rules.

We never sell your data. Nothing from your account, your listings, or your messages is given to an advertiser.

3b. Advertising

The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to choose which ads to show, under Google's own policy; on most devices you can reset or limit that identifier in your system settings. The iPhone and iPad app shows no Google ads at all.

We also show banners from advertisers who deal with us directly. Those are shown to everyone alike — they are not chosen from anything we know about you.

4. Legal Basis

We process your data based on your consent and to provide the service you asked for. Where we act to keep the marketplace safe — reviewing reports, or blocking an account that broke the rules — we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in a functioning marketplace.

5. Data Sharing & Service Providers

We share data only with trusted providers, solely to operate the app:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, photo storage, server functions, and notifications. By Google.
• Google AdMob — to show ads in the Android app. By Google.
• Apple — if you sign in with Apple. Apple tells us who you are; we send Apple nothing about you.
• Resend — to send our emails (verification, password reset, account deletion).

We do not share your data with anyone else, and we never sell it to advertisers or data brokers.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Account data, listings, and messages are stored in Google Cloud in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Photos are stored in Google Cloud in the United States. Server functions run in Belgium. All of it is protected by Google Cloud security and encrypted in transit.

7. How Long We Keep It

• Your account data and listings are kept while your account exists.
• Messages are kept while the conversation exists.
• When you delete your account, your account data, listings, photos, and conversations are deleted with it.
• If an account is banned for breaking the rules, we keep a one-way fingerprint of its email address so the same person cannot immediately return under a new account.

8. Your Rights

• Access and correction — you can view and edit your name, city, phone number, and listings inside the app at any time.
• Deletion — you can delete your account yourself from inside the app: Account → Delete account. You do not need to email anyone and you do not need our permission. You can also start the process at almarriapps.com/coffeetools/delete-account.
• Withdraw consent — you can turn off notifications, hide your phone number, or delete your account at any time.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Access to your data is enforced by server-side database rules, not by the app alone — a modified app cannot read what the rules forbid. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not keep what we do not need: we hold no payment details because we handle no payments.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and we will ask you to accept the updated Terms inside the app where the change is significant.
