Privacy Policy

Shopping List app — Effective date: 3 July 2026

At Shopping List, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: your name and email address (when you create an account).
• App data: the shopping lists and items you add, your groups and memberships, and who added or checked off each item.
• Subscription data: your subscription status (active/expired) and purchase details processed via Google Play. We never see your card details.
• Limited technical data: identifiers needed for notifications and to run the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To run the app: create your account and sync your lists and groups in real time among members.
• To send essential emails: email verification and password reset.
• To send item added/checked-off notifications (per your settings).
• To manage the free trial and subscription.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell it.

3. Legal Basis

We process your data based on your consent and to provide the service you requested.

4. Data Sharing & Service Providers

We share data only with trusted providers, solely to operate the app:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting) — by Google.
• Amazon SES — to send emails (verification / password reset).
• Google Play Billing / RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and payments.

Each provider is governed by its own privacy and security policies.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, associated data is deleted within a reasonable period (except what we must retain by law).

One exception: we keep a one-way encrypted fingerprint (SHA-256) of your email address after deletion, together with the date your free trial began. Your email cannot be recovered from it, and it is used for nothing except recognising that this address has already started a trial — so that deleting and recreating an account does not grant a new free week. If you return before your trial has run out, you resume the days remaining.

6. Security

We use encrypted connections and strict access rules to protect your data. No one can access a group they are not a member of.

7. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You may access, correct, or delete your data. You can permanently delete your account and associated data directly inside the app, from the side menu or the subscription screen, by selecting Delete account. You may also contact fhmarriapps@gmail.com for assistance.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers in other countries via our providers, while remaining protected.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
